Starting to play together!

Dorian is now 11 months old! And so they're really starting to interact much more and now I can truly say that Giacomo has a little playmate :-)

Liberty Science Center

Giacomo's last day of school vacation and I decided to take him to the newly refurbished Liberty Science Center. It did just go thru a $109 MILLION Dollar revamp so it just had to be fabulous! It was. Giacomo had a blast, and to top if all off, we got in super cheap! Normally its pricey to get in, but they have 3 days every year where its only $5 admission and we just happenned to luck out! Of course I had to buy him an expensive chachka in the souvenier store on the way out - but whaddareyagunnado?!

They had one activity for children where you could make your own sled and slide it down the mountain, he loved that since we had just gone tubing.

Then in the Eat & Be Eaten exhibit they had a terrarium with thousands of cockroaches! EEEEEEEWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!

Anyhoo, we'll be back there real soon ;-)

Family Tubing!

While in the Poconos, we went family tubing one day. It was sooooooo packed, but alot of fun. We had to wait 45 minutes to go down the first time! But then they opened 3 more runs so it went faster. I thought Giacomo would be scard because the speeds were very fast, but he was a trooper! We really had a blast!

Another highlight in Jim Thorpe, PA.

Jim Thorpe, PA

While in the Poconos we went to a small village called Jim Thorpe. The town is known as the Switzerland of America - and who better to visit than a bunch of Swissy's!

The town used to be called Mauch Chunk, after the mountain there, but in the 1930's changed its name to Jim Thorpe, after a gold-medal olympist, to bring in more tourism.

It truly was beautiful, the highlight of the trip. Small windy streets and lanes, beautuful row homes in an array of colors, quaint cafe's and antique shops, oh yeah - and mountains!!

I'd love to go back there and stay in a B&B, I recommend it!

Giacomo's New Love

It is only a matter of time before Spongebob will invade your life. And when it does......... there's no escape...........

Here we are in our hotel room, aka bunker - because it had no windows! We went to the Poconos for X-mas break and stayed in a resort and had a lovely 2 room suite with 2 bathrooms, as Grandma was in tow - or shall I say WE were in tow, since this trip was her gift to us!

In the land of the Poconos, Giacomo discovered his latest love, Spongebob Squarepants. We know we've hit rock-bottom, or shall I say, Bikini-Bottom. For those of you not in the know - Spongebob lives in a pineapple under the sea in a land called Bikini-Bottom. Yes, that is what I said.

And here's JP pretending to blast his brains out.

All Better!!

Wouldn't you know, 24 hours after Giacomo's fever and he's all better again! The boys have a blast playing in the crib.

First Fever :-(

Would you believe that in almost 4 years, that's right 4 YEARS!, Giacomo has never had a fever!! Wouldn't you guess it - the one day that he gets one is X-Mas eve!

The morning started off normal: not wanting to eat breakfast - that's normal, little bit o' whining - normal. We head into the city to see the famous X-Mas windows at Macy's and whatever other department stores we have the energy to go to, I had a huge walking tour planned for us. We get there and Giacomo wants nothing to do with looking at the windows. I think this is a bit strange, since he loves this kind of stuff. He goes coo-coo over one nutcracker! one tree! The whole time over there on the Path he was quiet with his head tilted to the side and a sad look on his face - very lethargic. I was just hoping that when we got off the packed Path he'd be OK. Well he really didn't want to get out of the stroller, so we just kinda waited it out a little bit until we decided to head back. And that was just the right thing to do. Giacomo fell asleep on the Path and slept for 4 hours. Then he slept from 8pm to 8am. Now this did cause alarm. He hasn't napped in over 2 years! AND he always wakes up at the crack of dawn. So I took his temperature, atleast 10X because I didn't know if the thermometer was accurate. I took his temp in the ear, the armpit, and under the tongue, he didn't like that much - but hey, atleast I spared him the rectal! He had about 100.5. Very sad. Good thing is was over in 24 hours.

On a happy note, Dorian always smiles when the camera is pointed at him and JP did truly enjoy his kebab infront of the Lord & Taylor windows!!
