Breakfast Today

JP has gotten the exclusive use of a top-of-the-line-amazing-super-dee-duper camera from his work. They just let him take it home and use it at his leisure. So he's really lucky and has been taking amazing shots. Here are some pics he took this morning at brekkie!

Hot Nite BBQ

Tonite we went to a BBQ at our friends Darren & Kim's. Their kids are Jasper & Clementime. They had a kiddie pool and since it was 100 degrees today, that was the perfect end to a sweltering day in the city.

Cooking Monsters!

Today I took Giacomo to a free trial class at one of NYC's most $$$ place for kids to take classes, Appleseeds. It was called Cooking Monsters! G LOVED it, I LOVED it!

It was in the Flatiron District. In the class they made an arugala salad with chopped figs, parmesan cheese and a balsamic vinaigarette. They also made an Israeli cous-cous salad with snow peas, asparagus, carrots and more parmesan cheese, and a berry crips for dessert! The teacher gave them each ingredient individually to taste, and explained every one, and to my surprise Giacomo liked everything! I couldn't believe it, he is a very picky eater, saying alot of the time - before he tries anything new - that he doesn't like it. I was thrilled with the class, although finding out the cost was not so thrilling, it worked out to be $43.00 a class for 45 minutes, just a tad on the expensive side dont ya think?!

The most amazing part of the class, was that one of the dad's there was my classmate Leo from elementary school!! I haven't seen him in 20 years and I recognized him right off the bat! We had a blast catching up. He was there with his wife and 2 years old daughter.

After the class I took G to Madison Square Park and saw Laura Bennett! One of the finalists from Project Runway last year! She was the pregnant redhead with the 6 kids, remember her?! I had a nice chat with her because she was helping G on the slide. She was there w/ her baby who is the same age as Dorian. I told her that, I too, was a reality TV star, err has-been... I asked her how her fashion designing career is going and she said she makes more $$$ doing commercials! Just this morning she had shot a Saturn Commercial. Lucky Her. Hey Baby Story! Where's my commercial!?!?!??!

Isla's 1st Birthday

...was a few weeks ago so we went there for the party. Unfortunately I don't have any pics of the birthday girl herself, but here are some shots of all the kids watching Bee Movie on the hi-def movie projector in the barn! And Grammy Jean reading the cuz's a story.

Amanda's Birthday

Last week we had the 4th b-day party for Giacomo's friend Amanda, who he has known since he was about 3 or 4 months old!! It was at the NJ Children's Museum in Paramus. I love that place. Soooo much for the kids to do. G loved to dress up like a knight among other things!

School Trip

Giacomo had his end-of-the-year all-school field trip a few days ago to Van Saun Park in Paramus. It was fun! We did carousel, pony rides, playground, picnic lunch, and we had great weather. good times....

BBQ

BBQ at Giacomo's friend Lil' Zac's. They have a nice urban garden oasis backyard with lots of snails!!

Vibraphone and Baguette

Here's just a day G rode his bike to the park, we found a man playing a vibraphone, and D enjoyed a large baguette!

Giacomo's First School Play

Giacomo was in his first school play last week. The class was to reenact the book Giraffe's Cant Dance. We have this book! He got it for his birthday last year, and he has been so excited to perform this play. He was to be the Hippo, and all he had to do was walk infront of the stage and hold up a big picture of a hippo, but poor Giacomo got stagefright. He froze up and wouln't perform. He looked so sad. Once he saw the audience he just got really nervous and didn't want to do it. After the play was over, we were giving him encouragement and sayng he did a great job!... but he just cried and cried.

He does say that he wants to be an actor when he grows up. I guess even the best of 'em get a little stagefright once in a while. Hopefully he will get over it, because he would be a great performer, he has an exuberant personality!

Oh well, better luck next time, Giacomoli!

Fountain Fun

The water has just been turned on at the fountain at the pier and the boys are just now seeing the fun that lies ahead this summer.

Zambini Brothers Circus

Here we are at a local Big Top circus. They had the typical small-time circus fare, sorry looking animals, including camels with clumpy hair, some puppy dogs looking mighty skinny, your tried and true circus midgit, and some bulgarian hoochie-mama's doing acrobatics! The announcer had a very nasal voice, I still like to do impressions of her, so if you would like an impression, do not hesitate to call! ;-)
