Post Play Pig-Out and Path!

After our fabulous theater experience today, we dined on pizza, what else, and my new favorite Yolato! It's Yogurt & Gelati, who knew?! Then we flew on the Path train back to the 'boken...no jokin'!

The Velveteen Rabbit

Today was especially special! We went to see the play The Velveteen Rabbit, with a bunch of other families from our playgroup. They had a pre-show workshop where the kids got to make colorful paper rabbits to hang on the stage, and rabbit ears and a rabbit bow-tie to wear during the performance. Giacomo loved doing the art project and it was a really nice activity for the theater to offer. The play was really fabulous, excellent singing, top-notch acting, and at the end they got to meet the actors. I think Giacomo was really impressed and hopefully inspired. Today pre-school, tomorrow Broadway!!!

Riverside Park

Last Sunday, we had planned to go to the Childrens Museum of Manhattan, but when we finally got out of the subway, we decided to skip that plan and head to the parks since it was such a sunny beautiful day...albeit cold. Anyhoo, we usually go to Central Park, but instead of walking east we decided to walk west - and we just happenned to take a left onto 83rd street and found the lovliest little playground in Riverside Park. We stayed there about an hour and then headed to Central Park - the granddaddy of them all!

Here are some pics of JP giving Giacomo a bass lesson and the last pic is of JP's newest creation, an electric upright bass violin. The boys really love playing that!

Merry-Go-Round Birthday!

Last weekend we had a combined birthday party of 4 of Giacomo's playgroup friends: Claire, Gabrielle, and her 2 little twin sisters Sydney & Alex. They were to have an ice-skating / merry-go-round party at historic Bear Mountain, but there were torrential rains all day long so they just had the merry-go-round part, as it was indoors. Giacomo must have gone around on the merry-go-round atleast 10 times, and with all the animals he could ride on, it really turned out to be alot of fun.

The drive home was a tad hairy - we were in a minivan with 3 other little girls (aka chipmunks) and 2 other moms, and the fog was as thick as clam chowdah! We made it though, and have had our fill of merry-go-rounds for a long while now!
